emag december 2010
It's not often the 'to do list' includes taking a 9 meter bow tie around the country to celebrate Wolf Gang's (Wolf Blass) 76th birthday. Nor is it common to bring 700 people across 5 states in Australia together for an interactive wine tasting experience – an event that was 600,000 years in the making. Why not make a 'Nature's Bar' providing an energy boost for People in Parks and launch our own AV offer at the same time? Road shows, media launches, video production, marquee designs, dinners, conferences and fundraisers… all in a day's work – well at least the past couple of months anyway.

Australia's largest ever national wine tasting event in 5 states and 3 time zones…simultaneously!
Wednesday 4th August, 2010 – Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane
Re instate Wynns Day after ten years in hiatus. Create a big and impactful event that generates hype, drive and enthusiasm internally and for the trade.
An interactive Masterclass and wine tasting event for seven hundred guests held simultaneously across three time zones and five states via web stream. This was a wonderful logistical and technical challenge that included the placement, filling and washing of 12,000 wine glasses (thank god for dishwashers). The event planning and activation involved more than 300 event staff and crew, 75 projection screens and 70 laptops. We told the Coonawarra story and released the 2010 Wynnsday Vintage. Significant local, trade and national media coverage with a total reach of over 20 million people.
“What an amazing event and an amazing effort by all…all that hard work and extra effort has been rewarded with probably the best wine event held in the country. Well done and thanks to all of you and those others that made Wynnsday 2010 a reality.”
Alex D'Amico – Group Marketing Manager, Regional Portfolio Treasury Wine Estates
“Thank you to alive for pulling this together, very professional and so impressive, a huge thank you to everyone it's been absolutely fantastic”

Parklife partygoers get back to nature………..
PEOPLE & PARKS
Saturday 2nd October, 2010 – Melbourne
Raise the People and Parks profile and brand recognition while inspiring people at the 2010 Parklife event to spend more time in nature. People & Parks wanted to gain support through donating, buying a tree or by becoming a volunteer.
The 'Nature's Bar' – a relaxed and informative environment that reflected the essence and ethos of People & Parks. The People and Parks team were able to promote their core message of 'enhance your wellbeing by spending time in nature'. Parklife partygoers received complimentary wheatgrass shots as they re-connected with nature and signed up to explore how they could make a difference by joining People & Parks.
“It was a huge relief to be able to hand the project management of this event over to alive to run with. All elements of this production were handled with utmost respect, professionalism, understanding and willingness. It was a great success for People & Parks Foundation, and we owe a lot of this to alive. Thanks so much.”

In July 2010 alive were engaged to produce a fundraiser event for Baker IDI – Heart & Diabetes institute.
- To create an indigenous themed fundraising dinner to raise brand awareness and spark media interest for Baker IDI
- Raise funds for research and to support the new Baker IDI Centre in Alice Springs through ticket sales, silent auction & raffle ticket sales
- Create an event that people will talk about and look forward to attending annually
- Create an event that will assist in gaining ongoing sponsorship and support for both the Melbourne & Alice Springs centre for research
- To move the format away from traditional fundraising events with a stronger focus on the creative
The team at alive created a working title for the event – “Heartworks” that Baker IDI then turned into the name of their ongoing campaign to raise funds & awareness.
The Heartworks campaign is an opportunity for individuals and business to partner with Baker IDI to build on the work in Alice Springs and surrounding communities to improve the health of Indigenous Australia.
Support of the Heartworks campaign will provide resources for:
- research that works alongside Aboriginal communities
- clinical services that work to address immediate health needs whilst gaining a better understanding of the community’s disease burden
- a planning and consultation project that will work to deliver an effective blue print for diabetes service delivery in Central Australia. The plan will address health service delivery across organisations, levels of government and across groups in the community.
The Heartworks campaign culminated in the heARTworks dinner on July 29th 2010.
The evening provided an artistic dining experience infused with the rich, textures, tones and tastes of the Australian Indigenous culture.
Venue – The Melbourne Museum
alive chose the Museum for this important event because of the venues presentation of indigenous culture as well as its high standard facilities and exceptional reputation for fine service, food and beverage.
The largest Museum in the southern hemisphere.
- The Melbourne Museum’s award winning design displays an innovative combination of space, texture and shapes from soaring glass walls to bold, bright columns.
- Taking inspiration from the heart of Alice Springs the room was set with warm earthy tones and magnificent washes of desert sunset lighting
